Avalon Airport handles Jetstar's budget routes and sits about 55km southwest of Melbourne's CBD — roughly 40–50 minutes from the city, and much less from the western suburbs. There's no train to the terminal; the practical options are the SkyBus from Southern Cross or a door-to-door transfer. With more than one passenger or more than one suitcase, door-to-door usually wins on both convenience and price.
